The Sun is back!

It's a couple of years ago, since I observed a sun spot. Yesterday, I again observed the Sun using a baader astrosolar filter and I indeed noticed some spots on its surface (see photo). The Sun is back! Since the Sun has an activity period of 11 years and the count of sun spots are propotional to its activity, no spots are observable in low activity periods. That was the case in the last two years.
Warning: Do not observe the Sun without a special solar filter! The intensive sun light will seriously damage your eyes!

The Sun in the fog

The Sun in the fog, as seen today morning from the city of Backnang in Germany. Note, no filters are used to capture this photo. Even so, the sun disc is clearly visible simultaneously with the rest landscape.

This is a cropped version of the same photo, digitally processed with a Sepia filter.
